Government Rolls Out 100 Buses To Ease Transport Challenges
The Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has officially commissioned 100 newly acquired 29-seater Isuzu buses for Metro Mass Transit Limited in Accra.
The buses are expected to ease pressure on public transport and improve movement for passengers, especially during peak hours when demand is high.
This rollout is part of a wider government plan to introduce 300 buses nationwide to support public transport operations and improve mobility across cities and towns.
The new buses are expected to be added to existing routes to help reduce waiting time and ease congestion at busy stations.
Alongside improvements like this in public transport capacity, Tap & Hop continues to focus on digitizing fare payments on public transport, making it easier for passengers to pay without the usual issues around change and fare disagreements, while also giving drivers clearer visibility into their daily earnings.
