BREAKING NEWS IN KUMASI...
About 30 drivers in Kumasi have been arrested by the KMA taskforce for charging unauthorised fares at night. This highlights a long-standing problem of fare manipulation in the public transport sector.
As long as we continue to pay transport fares in cash, there will always be room for manipulation, overcharging, and confusion between drivers, trotro mates, and passengers.
That's why Tap & Hop has introduced a digital fare payment system where you can now pay your fares with a Tap & Hop card in a trotro and taxis.
Simply "tap on" the device in the car when you enter and "tap off" when you reach your destination, and the exact fare is automatically deducted and paid into the driver's mobile money or bank account.
This eliminates the need for physical cash, arguments about fares, or charging unauthorised fares, which can lead to chaos and misunderstanding.
We urge you to tell your friends and relatives about this initiative to download the Tap & Hop app (just as you have done) and register for the free Tap & Hop transport card.
